Wilmington, North Carolina
Hey, I’m Glenn Guiao. I was born in the Philippines, moved to Washington D.C. in 1999, and I’ve been a photographer for more than sixteen years.
I’ve photographed for The New York Times Magazine, Nordstrom, and Forbes, along with countless ephemeral weddings in Las Vegas. Eventually I moved to Wilmington, where I got married and settled into the coast.
Here in North Carolina, I’ve photographed weddings and sessions at The Atrium, Airlie Gardens, Bakery 105, 128 South, Brooklyn Arts Center, Wrightsville Manor, and the coastal beaches that shape this part of the state.
I like to incorporate film into my work, not by copying scenes, but by borrowing the emotional charge behind them.
The running scene on the beach and the honeymoon phase of young love in Submarine by Richard Ayoade. The curiosity and wholesomeness of cats in The Electrical Life of Louis Wain. The feeling of going into the unknown and staying close to your childhood in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
I’ve watched these scenes countless times. I remember them, then channel them into prompts and directions that feel electrically charged with emotion.
On a wedding day, that usually means looking for movement, humor, softness, tension, weather, family, and the small in-between moments that make the day feel specific to you.
My first personal project was portraits European individuals smiling in front of the camera in 2014. I spoke to about 90+ photos of people.
My most popular Las Vegas package was The Hangover Experience in 2017. I got married in 2025 to my wife and Hair and Make Up, Brina Carrier.
I've visited 40 states, 26 countries, know 2 languages, Tagalog, English, and learning Italian.
My favorite musician is Hozier, favorite dish is Sinigang, and favorite mammal, Penguins.
